I just saw the breed all about it show on Animal Planet.I watch the show everyday because I'm planing on getting a dog soon.I had never heard of the spinone before but now i'm in love.That just might be the new dog in my family.

Hello, I first saw the Italian Spinone on Animal Planet's Breed All About It. I've since met a couple in person at local dog shows. I currently have 2 Old English Sheepdogs, but someday, in the future, I would like to get a Spinone (probably from rescue). Your website is informative and easy to navigate. been interested in a spinone for years as a companion breed for my wolfhounds-need a "bed"dog. saw the animal planet feature and bells went off. just how "vocal" is the breed? forgive my sensitivity but i've been keeping a friend's wheaten terriers for 4 months and i am a bit overdosed on noisy dogs.

Gracie, a 14 month old female rhone and white Spinone just joined my family. Your web page was key to my deciding to ask Gracie to live with us. Gracie has a rather bad yeast infection in both ears and is extremely upset if we get near to them. Subsequently, we had our vet knock her out to perform cleaning and treatment. Home treatment is now required on a daily basis but Gracie refuses to allow anyone near her ears and boy can she squirm, squeal and essentially get away. The bottom line is that she needs daily treatment but won't let us do it. Any suggestions as to how I might talk her in to accepting this treatment? Please email suggestions to: Junoid@aol.com.

I am interested in raising a Spinone, as a family pet and as a hunting dog. Although I've trained family pets in the past, this will be my first hunting dot to train. I believe that the Spinone will be the type of dog that will fit best with my sporting and with my family. Since the dog is a rare breed, could you help me find respectible breeders in California? Although I live in Orange County, near Disneyland, I will travel a good distance to work with a professional breeder for the great dog. I have a large home and fenced yard, plus, the time necessary for the extra training necessary for hunting. I do not intend to breed (I have no experience or time to devote to this activity); therefore the dog would be spayed/neutered. Any help would be appreciated. I adopted a dog from the Humane Society in Michigan about 6 years ago. They did not know what kind of dog she is. The picture on your front web page looks IDENTICAL to my dog. I have a friend who is looking into this breed as a pet. I have raised and trainded Akita's for 10 years OB and confirmation.. So I told her to be careful and look around. Have to admit your site is very nice and the dog intrigues me, there are 7 entered at the Indy Hoosier next weekend, they are in my ring can not wait to have a look at them. Nice Job Cindy

I saw a great looking Spinone in an ad in this month's Flying magazine. What a great looking dog. We are in the process of getting an English Setter to replace one of our Scotties who has lymphoma. We'll be keeping — obviously — our other Scottie (a wheaten), but are looking for a more active dog to run on the beach in Southern California.
