I have visited this website many times over the past year because I have a precious 20 mo.old dog who looks very spinone-ish. He is white with orange on his ears,beard and tail. He has grown to the right size ( I'm praying he will stop now) and has the wavy unkempt coat,long ears,beautiful light brown eyes and the best disposition in the world.Could anyone in the D.C. area contact me? I adopted a dog from the pound a few years ago and have been told on more than once that my Annie looks like a spinone. I had to come and see for myself. Except for the ears this breed looks very much like my best friend Annie.

I LOVE your website, especially the music. Very, very nice. The Spinone is breed I'm very interested in if I get another dog. I currently have a Tibetan Terrier which I show in obedience and agility for fun. Would this breed be happy as a house pet with regular walks, frolics in the park and only obedience training? As it is a hunting breed and I would not be hunting with it, I wouldn't want to find it would be restless without doing what it was bred to do. Are there many that are rescued? Thanks for you time. We are the proud owner of Luca, a 1+year old roan Spinone, son of Brando, purchased from Mirto Linese. He has a delightful disposition and is a joy to have around, except for the slobber. He loves the kids and is very protective of them. He has an occasional recurring skin rash, is this possibly a food alergy. Any advise?

I am very interested in this breed because it sounds like it has the personality of my bloodhound. Although, my bloodhound has an oily coat which has a musky odor that I do not want to repeat in my house. Does this breed share this quality? I hope it doesn't because so far everything about them sounds perfect for me. But I really need to know because my husband refuses to have another "stinky" dog. Thanks!

There is a discussion forum available for various items of concern to Spinone owners and lovers of the breed. Currently, there is an ongoing discussion about cerebella ataxia and the breeders who continue to breed this potential carrier disease. If you wish to see what we are saying or to add you comments, please access this discussion forum at http://www.spinone.net/discussion As you can see from the various contributions already on the forum, there is NO reason for a breeder to breed a CA carrier other than greed. It is definitely not for the betterment of the breed. If you have questions about other items, you may leave your questions for a future answer.

I have only just started surfing, but the site looks good in many ways. I first visited Relative Risks following a recommendation from another British breeder and was a little concerned that there was no information about CA except percentage inheritance. This is rather misleading in my view. Can we not help with putting together a more comprehensive page on CA? It has taken a year to find out what kind of dog was abandoned in our neighborhood in the middle of winter! Thanks to your informative web site we now know we have a spinone! The vet thinks she was abandoned due to hip dysplasia. She is so intelligent and loving and kind. She does have anxiety attacks occasionally and sighs a lot. No wonder since she was abandoned in the snow and wandered the streets for at least two weeks!

This is a beautifully done sight. It's extremely informative, and easy to navigate. The pictures are marvelous too. Thanks for your time and effort in maintaining it. I'm sure most people know this, (I'm computer challenged) but it would be nice to be able to turn off the Java, as it slows things down quite a bit. I found the tribute to Pat Wilkinson's Monza wonderful. I personally knew him and found him to be the most beautiful dog, a true and wonderful specimen of the breed, who deserved all of his wins, to which I was able to witness most of them. He was a true gentleman, who loved everybody and everything, a great loss to us personally who loved him dearly, but also to the entire breeding world of Spinone.
